Time to honour our stars at the 10th SASA!

Yes, it is the 10th South African Sport Awards. And Bloemfontein, in the Free State Province is the host on November 22 (Sunday evening).

This year’s theme or slogan is ‘IzinjaZeGame‘ – colloqiual someone that is on top of his or her game…

Although as custom for the minister of Sport Fikile “Razzmatzz” Mbalula to reveal the budget for the awards- as happened in 2013 when R65m was allocated- for this year, it’s not the case.

Each category nominee receives R15 000 cash and the winner in each category receives R130 000.

The winners of the Sport Star of the Year and People’s Choice Award each receive a luxury vehicle, R500 000 for themselves and R500 000 to donate to a charity of their choice.

On Friday, as precursor to the awards a Ministerial Golf Day was hosted as part of raising funds for Central University of Technology.

The awards ceremony takes place at the Sand du Plessis Theatre, Bloemfontein -live from 8pm on SABC and SuperSport channels, respectively.
