Martially yours’. Last year’s RedSquare Dance Competition winners Soulistic Fusion Trio from Dobsonville, will battle it out yet again at the finals at Soshanguve, Pretoria this weekend.

Last year’s winners Soulistic Fusion Trio-males- from Soweto will battle it out to defend their title on June 11, against contenders who are all capable of taking this year’s first prise.

Since the auditions kick-off from March to May this year, judges had ‘beautiful’ headaches to reach the pinnacle of this fun yet exhilarating dance competition that focuses on motivating dance crews and individual dancers to aim for a more professional and higher level in performance.

Since winning the competition Soulistic has gone on to perform outside the borders, thus dispelling the myths and notion that they were not entitled to crack the first prize last year.

To add to the Dobsonville crew growing portfolio they also won the RedBull 2015 dance competition in Soweto. So, its game on…

The trio –who fuses martial art moves into their routine -will set ablaze the stage against last year’s finalists C-Unit and Survivor Crew; Wolf Amader; African Revolution; Team Series; USG Crew; Vandals; Panzan Entertainment; Unisextainment; Wise Destroyers; Interlectual Pantsula; RVB; Balfour Revolution; Duduza Young Generation; Rock Stars, and C.I.E.

The finalists are drawn from all over Gauteng- Ekurhuleni, Emfuleni (Vaal), Soweto, West Rand, Tshwane and surrounding areas, with a total of thirty auditions over three rigorous months.

“The competition seeks to present fair opportunities, encourage talented dancers to take their gift a bit more serious and try to show that they can make something worthwhile from their gift of performance or artistic talent,” read a statement from RedSquare.

Second and third placed crews will pocket R10 000 and the R5 000 respectively.

Award winner Kwesta(Ngudu) king, Junior Taurus & Lady Zamar, Snow Deep, DJ Pentse and Dinho, will set a perfect pinnacle to end the finals scheduled at Hopes Tavern- Soshanguve, Pretoria on June 11.

It begins from 6pm.

The stage is set. Its light, camera and action!
