AKA and Zakes at ‘each others throat’

A cancer battle. AKA and Zakes will battle it out once again for the 1Goal4Cancer initiative as part of Breast Cancer awareness initiative.

“This is a cause so close to my heart and I’m grateful that AKA and all our players are joining me in this Since losing his mother due to cancer in 2007, Bantwini has been vocal on the Breast Cancer campaigns and awareness.

To champion the cause, Zakes and AKA’s teams will battle it out on the soccer pitch to celebrate the awareness of Breast Cancer Month in November as part of Bantwini’s initiative ‘1Goal4Cancer’.

The game will feature star studded celebs such as Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Doctor Khumalo, Donald, Slikour, Good Hope FM’s DJ Lloyd, Minnie Dlamini, Moneoa and Pearl Thusi for Zake’s team.

AKA’s comprise of Lennox Bacela from Tuks FC, Darren and Ryan known as Twins on Decks, DJ Fanatic, DJ Franky, Kwesta, Nandi Mngoma, Kid X, Ma-E, Siya Mdluli aka Cashtime Siya and club owner, promoter and director, Allesio.

It has been scheduled for November 2 at Discovery Soccer Park next to Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.

“For years, the adidas group has been actively supporting cancer research through initiatives such as the All fight line, the Unstoppable lines and the AKTIV line with Greta Weitz.

As a company entrenched in its support of active and healthy lifestyles, we believe that raising awareness for cancer encourages early detection thus saving lives. For this reason we are proud to support this initiative and to contribute in some way to this vital cause,” commented Brad Stern, Director of Brand Activation, adidas South Africa.

Nominations and pledges to donate towards the initiative are being driven via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook using #1goal4cancer with proceeds going to the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA).

Last year, AKA‘s team won thus had to shave off Bantwini’s hair.
