Downs, Bucs it will go down to the wires who wants the PSL title?

Its countdown time. Will Bucs pull a wool over Wits eyes and win the much vaunted game or will Downs be champs? Its all in tonight’s clashes…

Bucs face former PSL champs Bidvest Wits in tonight’s do or die battle at home ground Orlando Stadium.

Kick off 19:30.

Having not collected any silverware in ages Bucs will come out with guns blazing to try and topple the hard to crack Students. Its going to be muddy and blood traces on the ground…

The last time Bucs won a title was back 1996 at the formation of the PSL, were they made a clean sweep of silverwares.

But this time, they have to work harder and pray effortlessly that they bag maximum points to challenge Downs’ for the title, which mathematically is still open.

The Motsepe owned club top the log with 55 points and Bucs stand at 49.

As indicated a draw or lose will be handing ‘Masandawana’ the league honours!

The Buccaneers have claimed 26 points from 13 home matches this season, and their last three games as hosts have brought wins over Maritzburg United, Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic.

Wits have gone three league matches without a win after they were held 1-1 at home by Polokwane City on April 22.

The Clever Boys have won their last six successive league matches against the Buccaneers and tonight they will fight for one thing only: top eight flight.

Party spoilers, Maritzburg United, who elbowed the same Downs’ in the Nedbank semis, will be wary of the Pretoria side -the latter are raring for the PSL title and United are in the finals of Nedbank.

Talk in taxis, taverns and bedrooms has it that: Downs handed United their first cup final in return for a favour for the league. How true?

They meet at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Kick-off is at 7:30pm.

Time for juju-men to earn their worths.

Will it be early to state this will go to the wires, let it BE…
