JD judges have a tough task at hand!

Tough assignment. Judges Culoe de Song, KO and Speedsta have been tasked to pick a winner(s) at the JD Music Scout finals on October 2.

The ‘fab four’ pulled stunts and increased their chances of making it to the finals, out 6 000 other hopefuls countrywide, since the competition began in July this year.

Entering its third edition, the JD Music Scouts finals will be judged by esteemed music players namely Culoe De Song, KO and DJ Speedsta.

It goes down in October on Friday 2 at Katy’s Palace Bar, Sandton.

The ultimate winner will get to share a stage with international sensation T.I at Jack Daniel’s Boomtown Joburg presented by Airey Scott Entertainment in Jo’burg.

They’ll also win a Dream Team SA deal to the value of R150,000, to start-start their music career.

Also, included is a deal studio to record a 4-track EP that will go live on global digital music stores, the chance to shoot a music video and dedicated PR services for 6 months.

Here are the finalists:

Emmanuel Mutendji aka Manu is a Johannesburg born. He’s a Hip Hop musician and sang in a church choir. In 2015 Manu, released his debut mixtape titled “From Now On Call me FNOCMM”, that also got praised from Slikouronlife.co.za, that is curated by hip hop sensation Slikour.

Randy Mkhwanazi aka Randy McLlolan is a 21-year old singer originally from Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal(KZN).

She describes her lyrics as disturbingly beautiful, an authentic fusion of Jazz, R’nB, Deep House, Hip Hop, Pop, Soul, Folk and Country music.

Randy is a graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of KZN.

Stones & Bones is a blend of pulsating Afro House grooves with a touch of Rock and Soul.

It is made of Casper Steenkamp aka Stones (29) and Kgothatso Mohlaka aka Bones (28), both from Pretoria, who both met and studied music production and sound engineering diploma.

Stones & Bones is inspired by the collective sounds each heard growing up – from Rock ‘n Roll and Hip Hop to House and traditional South African township Funk.

Thabzero” birth name Thabiso Mkhize, is from Umazi, Durban.

The (25) is former petrol attendant, who had to make ends meet following the passing of her mother.

Thabiso matriculated in 2007 but had to relocate to Eldo’s in Jozi to study Sound Engineering at the Academy of Sound. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, he wasn’t able to complete his diploma and ended up going back to KZN.

The finalists performances will be broadcast live on Yfm.
