LOC generates R3,6m!

LOC delivered the highly anticipated AFCON 2013 report and financial results yesterday at SAFA House.

  

 “As the LOC we had committed to SAFA, and to our country that this tournament will be cash positive and that is exactly what we presented.”

Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula was also presented with the handing over of AFCON 2013 Report and SAFA.

Dr Molefi Oliphant said the LOC was leading 1:0 as a result of AFCON 2013 but it is only the first half and that the second half is CHAN 2014. He encouraged the LOC to increase its lead when the second half starts next year.

Mvuso Mbebe, LOC CE said the tournament did not only deliver record stadium attendance in the history of the cup competition but it also achieved positive results for SAFA. The LOC reported a net profit of R3.6 million against project profit of only R535 139.00, which is R3 million better than envisioned.

He said by saying “the Beat at Africa’s Feet” resonated throughout the continent and was felt by the world at large. Through football we truly celebrated Africa”.

Mbebe also agreed that they were lagging behind in promoting the 2014 CHAD tourney.
