Turkish Airlines introduction of toys for younger market welcomed

The new toys, exclusively designed for Turkish Airlines, recognizes the need to provide young travellers between 3 and 12 with additional entertainment while inflight.

This new policy was introduced January 2018.

This is part of the airlines innovation in showing its careness towards the younger market; and also forms part of its recognition of harmful effects of plastic on both children and the environment.

“The new toys, exclusively designed for Turkish Airlines, recognizes the need to provide young travellers between 3 and 12 with additional entertainment while inflight.

The toy set gives children this opportunity while simultaneously introducing them to the concept of endangered species. Through play, Turkish Airlines, in conjunction with the World Wildlife Fund of Turkey, hopes to instill an appreciation of animal protection among our children—those who will inherit the world and will be responsible for its care,” read the media statement.

The Airline is committed to making every aspect of its operation consistent with its goal of sustainable development and eco-friendly operations, since the toys are created from cotton and the wooden parts are manufactured according to the sustainability rules set by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Turkish Airlines amongst others, sponsors top flight soccer teams, Golf and American Football, worldwide and this opportunity will afford children to encourage their parents to attend some of the matches, knowing very well their long haul will never be boring or a nightmare as in the past.

It is hoped other airlines such as Emirates and SAA will follow suite.
