Banyana should by all means qualify for WC finals- history in the making

Buoyant and in charge. Banyana coach Desiree Ellis should be applauded for creating history in the SA football by taking her team to its first WC finals.

The two face each other in semi-finals kicking off at 18:30 SAT.

A win for our ladies will assure them an automatic first-time qualification for the Fifa Women’s World Cup.

Knowing coach Desiree Ellis she won’t let her Sasol sponsored squad settle for anything else than a win, which by no means is a history on its own in football for Women in SA.

Currently Banyana lead their group having also beaten nemesis Nigeria for the first time in the annals of football history in SA.

Mali have already pushed the boundary by making it out of the group stage for the first time

But for our ladies a win is a priority in today’s battle, although through goal difference we shall still qualify.

Fly our SA flag high ‘abosisi bethu…’
