Women in business honoured at Commonwealth Forum

THE Commonwealth Business Forum hosted the Business Awards ceremony at the Emperors Palace, Ekurhuleni, to celebrate the achievements of outstanding business leaders across various sectors.

In line with Women’s Month, the evening was dedicated to honoring the contributions of women in leadership and business, highlighting their significant role in shaping the future of the economy.

Ekurhuleni acting Mayor Sizakele Masuku, gratefully thanked the Commonwealth committee for choosing the city of Ekurhuleni in hosting the 2nd  Annual Commonwealth Business Summit and Excellence Awards.

She pledged her support in all future Commonwealth activities.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mandla Mandela, nephew of the late former President Nelson Mandela, who was accompanied by his wife, Nomfundo Mcoyi, founder and CEO of Cebolethu Group, who was among the dignitaries recognized for her remarkable contributions to the business world.

The highlight of the evening was the recognition of Nerusha Sadapal, a dynamic entrepreneur from Durban and the founder of Visual Networks South Africa.

She was celebrated as a trailblazer in the Television and Film Industry, recognized for her exceptional work in empowering the youth through filmmaking.

Sadapal, who also leads the 48 Hour Film Festival scheduled to take place in Durban on 27th September 2024, has been instrumental in nurturing young talent and fostering creativity within the industry.

The evening’s program was directed by Dr. Sindiswa Mzamo, a revered entrepreneur and a powerful voice in the business community.

The Commonwealth Business Excellence Awards were proudly supported by RR Group, KZN Oils, Expo, and ADT.
