POLICE are on the hunt for killers of Thato Molosankwe.
Thato, a Mahikeng-based crime activist and traditional healer, was shot this morning by unknown assailants.
The outspoken leader of Lomanyaneng- a drive from Mahikeng, who was also vocal against the North West Gvt on corruption, was shot eight- times.
This was confirmed by his family.
He was also known for assisting police efforts against crime and corruption while strengthening ties between the SAPS and communities.
His brother Victinus Molosankwe said Thato was a people’s person and shot from the hip, especially on matters related to GBV and others in his community.
“Whenever he spoke, its like he pre-empted his death, because he kept talking about death,” says Victinus. “We would like SAPS to work hard in arresting those killers and find closure,” he pleaded.
Acting National Police Commissioner Lt-Gen Puleng Dimpane ordered the deployment of maximum resources to find Molosankwe’s killers.
“Lt-Gen Dimpane has strongly condemned the brutal murder and assured the community that no stone will be left unturned until those responsible are found and brought to book,” SAPS said, adding that the provincial Murder and Robbery Unit had taken over investigations into this matter.
Police have called for anyone to assist with information that may assist investigations to contact the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or provide anonymous tip-offs via the MySAPS App.
