EFF’s boss Julius Sello Malema continues to deny any corrupt relations and unlawful dealing with suspended Crime Intelligence boss Major- General Feroz Khan and alleged cigarette smuggler Mohammed “Mo” Sayed.
In response Malema poured cold on the allegations saying he’s not involved with “gangsters” and distanced himself from any SAPS tender relationships.
He argued that he could not verify the authenticity of text exchanges between him and Khan, and pointed out any information received came to him through his duties as MP.
Malema also continues to deny evidence linking him in interfering with intelligence and police institutions and plots to oust former Inspector-General of Intelligence Setlhomamaru Dintwe.
On VBS and Mazzotti allegations- the firebrand says he received a Sandton penthouse for free from businessman Adriano Mazzotti, saying its public knowledge that his party is funded by the controversial Mazzotti.
On his wife’s complex, he pointed out the wife’s prior residence was in the same residential complex as Mazzotti’s and he secured a lease agreement.
He did not comment on the allegations that Khan passed along personal details of a VBS curator to EFF benefactors.
If credible evidence at the Madlanga Commission is presented, Malema could be impeached as an MP and will have to appear at the commission.
This would not augur well for the ‘red-beret’ as local elections take place in November 2026.
