‘YOU gorgeous’ narrator Feroz Khan kicked out of SAPS.
This was confirmed on Wednesday by the South African Police Services, following the failure by deputy head of Crime Intelligence Major General Khan to show up at the organizations disciplinary hearing, in terms of Regulation 9(7)(b) of the SAPS Discipline Regulations.
In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, National Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said the dismissal forms part of the organisation’s commitment to enforcing accountability and discipline across all ranks.
“No member, regardless of rank or position, is above the law or the applicable disciplinary framework,” she said.
Khan, who was shot in Houghton-Johannesburg (mysteriously so), had extended to testify before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, but his appearance was postponed after his legal representatives cited his health as of a major concern.
As a result, this irked the Commissioners.
At SAPS, Khan faced disciplinary proceedings, and his urgent application to stop the disciplinary process was struck off by the Labour Court, shortly before his dismissal.
Mathe, only stated that the matter is the subject of legal proceedings, without revealing more details.
With Khan out of the system, he still has to give his testimony on September 28, of which the Commission has imposed conditions, including an independent medical assessment to establish whether he is medically fit to testify.
He also faces court charges on OR Tambo International Airport gold probe.
What also made headlines were affectionate messages exchanged between Khan and former IDAC boss Andrea Johnson.
Intimate WhatsApp messages such as “you gorgeous” from Khan, along with discussions about missing one another, dinner plans, and invitations to visit Khan’s home, were exposed during the Commission.
Its unclear when would Johnson return to testify against latest revelations.
But as for Khan, the can has been kicked down the road- hamba khaya!
