Its because one of SA’s celebrated football commentator Baba Mthethwa (formerly SABC now SuperSport) will provide commentary at the music fest.
Mthethwa has built a name for himself having shaped and carved the commentating career in mzansi that spans years’ in the works.
Its undoubtedly clear his craft is not only revered behind the mic but the organisers felt his magical touch and superlatives are needed to amplify the status of the Scorpion Kings Live stature.
How will that unfold- be at the calabash from 1pm on Saturday, to experience this never heard of extravaganza- that’s if you have bought a ticket or lose out…
Another best kept secret is the announcement of both SA’s darlings- Bontle Modiselle and Robot Boii, as official hosts alongside Baba Mthethwa.
According to the organisers- they bring their energy, personality and undeniable connection to South African entertainment to the country’s biggest stages.
The likeable Modiselle brings her dynamic presence as a performer, presenter and creative force; and Robot Boii (the son of legendary poet Mzwakhe Mbuli) will bring his infectious personality and unmistakable energy to the stage, known for his ability to connect with audiences and his strong ties to contemporary South African music and culture.
Thanks to the creative genius of both DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small for having conceptualised this movement, and Sony Music SA, for backing the idea to fill up the 90 000 seater, that will see more than 70 000 strong fans gracing the unforgettable day and night…considering the massive line-up that will feature on the day.
