BAFANA BAFANA coach should be jostling for joy following a must win to reach the Africa Nations Cup finals to be held in Egypt in June.
Their 2-1 win against the feisty Libya was no easy feat but Stuart Baxter’s boys made amends by scoring two important goals courtesy of on-song Percy Tau.
The last time the national football team last qualified for CAN tournament was in 2010 and for us, as a nation it’s a sign improvement.
Pressure has been mounting on Baxter’s selection criterion, match practices and so, on.
However, another point of concern is Bafana should not only add the numbers but perform in Egypt.
For Baxter and his charges, the big job begins now and no room of errors will be allowed.
Commitment, passion and fighting spirit that was displayed against Libya should brush off at the tourney.
Darren Keet- to single him and Tau out- did put up their hands high as potential players jetting off to Egypt.
Keet, for his efforts has brought jittery to SA’s No1 Itumeleng Khune (shoulder injury) admitting to get back in the post will not be a walk in the park.
Acting SAFA CEO Russell Paul says their wish is for the team to be third on Africa and 20th on world rankings.
We believe in our boys- if only they can believe in themselves!
