Dr Irvin “The Iron Duke” Khoza, Kaizer “Chincha Guluva” Motaung and Ephraim “Black Prince of Soccer Jomo Matsilele” Sono.
Now the interesting thing is the latter caused pain for Bucs, after Cosmos outmanouvered them 1-0 this past weekend in the PSL clash.
“‘I’ve always beat Pirates,” Sono was quoted.
This brings us to the much awaited derby between wounded clubs Kaizer Chiefs and Bucs this weekend.
Both sides go into this game knowing a win will please their fans.
Lets’ forget about players for a while and focus on the club owners.
Eric Tinkler, Pirates coach according to some, should have long walked the plank but since his boss hasn’t ordered such a directive, he will be on the bench, again.
His counterpart Steve Komphela is also facing the tumultuous task.
Having lost last weekend to Dikwena 2-1 after taking a lead has ignited the talk in shebeens and taxi ranks that he should take a step back.
But also the hierachy at Narena has not uttered a word suffice to say “if we do you’ll be the first to know” said club’s football manager Bobby Motaung, on the future of Komphela.
Interestingly, both Khoza and Motaung are respectable business figures of note and the fact they were honoured this week, speaks volume of their thick profile in the development and emancipation of football in SA and the Continent.
But unfortunately, on Saturday one will have to take a calculated yet cruel decision on respective coach. Its all or nothing, finish & klaar!
Motaung is known for having leniency on coache’s yet his counterpart wields a shield when results are not fortchcoming.
Despite Tinkler taking his charges to the finals of CAF last year and lost, fans are having none of it and some have gone as far as probing why the boss hasn’t made any recalling. To our surprise-all football fans included- the recalling has not yet been sanctioned.
Are the bones happy, we shall see on Saturday?
Chiefs on the other hand, has been winning but not convincingly. Clearly, both coaches are living on borrowed times. Amen!
Whoever triumphs on Saturday, deserves a raise or as they say in kasi lingua “ke mathata feela”.
FNB Stadium is the host venue.
The game kicks off at 15:30
Tickets are still available at Computicket.
