GAUTENG Premier Panyaza Lesufi finally has curated his cabinet.
This follows weeks of postponement due to political grandstanding and disagreements between the ANC and DA, on the formation of the provincial unity Government.
Now that the dust has settled here is the final list:
- Tasneem Motara (ANC): Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements
- Faith Mazibuko (ANC): Gauteng for Social Development
- Bonginkosi Dlamini (IFP): Gauteng MEC for e-GOV
- Lebogang Maile (ANC): Gauteng MEC for Finance
- Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko (ANC): Gauteng MEC for Health
- Kedibone Tlhabela (ANC): Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport
- Jacob Mamabolo (ANC): Gauteng MEC for Infrastructure Development and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs
- Matome Chiloane (ANC): Gauteng MEC for Education
- Vuyiswa Ramokgopa (Rise Mzansi): Gauteng MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development
- Sheila Mary Peters (PA): Gauteng MEC for Environment
In his speech to the new-comers, on Wednesday evening at the swearing-in, Lesufi said they must now hit the ground running because Gauteng province is dirty, and cleaning and maintenance of buildings, must be of priority and providing services to residents of Gauteng is paramount.
Some of the portfolios have been amalgamated with others, yet the other is a stand-alone. Most importantly, the Community Safety has been absorbed in the Premier’s Office.
The DA will now become the official opposition, though its unknown what are they ‘cooking’ behind the scenes, as a result of their decision and the new cabinet.
