Three new categories have been added namely: Community Sport and Recreation programme of the Year; Community media of the Year and School Sport Athlete of the Year.
At the media launch held at Emoyeni Estate, Jozi recently, MEC for Sport and Recreation Faith Mazibuko said the addition of these awards are testament to what the departments believes in and also gives us the opportunity to honour our unsung local heroes in communities we live.
The awards will be held on October 2, Silver Star Hotel in Mogale City.
The MEC also urged “all South Africans to give full support to the South African Olympic team that will be representing the country in the upcoming Rio Olympic Games that will take place in the capital city of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro as from 5 August – 21 August 2016″.
