Sebolai‚ 38‚ is testifying in his murder trial at the Johannesburg High Court‚ sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court southeast of Johannesburg.
The radio personality‚ also known as “DJ Donald Duck”‚ is accused of stabbing his girlfriend Flavia Rachel “Dolly” Tshabalala‚ 32‚ to death after the couple had a fight at his Soweto flat on June 29 last year.
He has pleaded not guilty.
As Sebolai took the court through the events that led to the stabbing‚ he began weeping and asked Judge Cassim Moosa for an adjournment.
Sebolai said the couple had been fighting about his phone after returning home from a night out.
Tshabalala wanted to go through his phone to see who he had been communicating with but he refused‚ he said.
She had accused him of cheating on her and said that she did not trust him‚ he said.
Earlier Sebolai had denied claims that he had said he wanted out of his relationship with Tshabalala because her vagina was too “big”.
Sebolai said: “I was born by a woman. How can I say such a thing about a woman?”
Policeman warrant officer Pheeha Esrom Mabitsi testified last week that Sebolai had wanted his assistance in kicking Tshabalala out of his flat‚ where the couple lived together for some time‚ because her vagina had “stretched” and sex with her was no longer enjoyable.
The DJ also faces charges of theft and defeating the ends of justice for allegedly stealing Tshabalala’s car and tampering with the crime scene.
He has also pleaded not guilty to these charges.
He is out on bail of R10‚000.
The trial continues.
