Kwaito star Tamara Dey will bring evolution at this years’ ConHill fest

AFTER a successful hosting in 2023, the ‘Road to Amapiano Festival’ returns!

The iconic and World Heritage Site- Constitution Hill, in Braamfontein, will be the host venue once again.

It happens on September 7th- Heritage Month.  

Supported by Nedbank, the festival celebrates 30 years of the rich history and global impact of South African music, and offers the option to attend in person or virtually from anywhere in the world.

Brought to you by the Arts & Culture Trust in partnership with Soda World, present the AfroTech, it features SA’s top entertainers.

From Oskido, Thebe, Glen Lewis, Ready D, Nasty C, Tamara Dey, Moonchild Sanelly, Thebe, Boom Shaka, Scott Maphuma, MFR Soul, Jab a Jaw, Just Themba, Thakzin, Jimm & Tonic, to Aero Manyelo and Mellow & Sleazy.

The fest will take attendees on an unforgettable journey through three decades of South African music, highlighting the evolution and innovation of genres like Kwaito, Afro-house, Gqom, Afrotech and Amapiano through DJ and live act performances. 

Celebrating the rich history and global impact of South African music in acknowledgment of 30 years of democracy and the Arts & Culture Trust’s 30 years of existence, this year’s theme, “The Road to Amapiano,” features musicians from all three decades including a 10-hour jam session hosted by Soweto’s finest ‘Sawubona Music Jam.’

Highlights of the day includes, curated timelines: Explore the evolution of South African music with iconic songs, artists, and performances that have shaped the music scene; virtual reality experiences: Dive into the metaverse and experience the transformative power of VR; Gourmet Food and Drinks: Enjoy gourmet local food stops, mixology and sip and paint experiences; Day Market: Shop a variety of top art products, merchandise and designs from South African makers, designers, and visual artists; Kids Entertainment Zone: Fun and engaging activities for the little ones curated by Play Africa and ASSITEJ SA including edutainment games and performances.
