Lip-smacking battle between Chiefs vs Downs for the Carling Black Label quarters

IT’S a clash that was never to be.

The Carling Black Label Knockout Cup quarter-finals fixture has turned out to be lipsmacking!

Opening this week’s clash- sees Kaizer Chiefs versus Mamelodi Sundowns at the sold-out FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off 6pm. A good decision by the league considering a heat-wave.

Both sides continue to dish out superb performances having recently gave good account in their respective PSL outings.

AmaKhosi drew 2-all with the on-song Magezi United; while Downs collected three points against Cape Town City- registering a 3-0 victory.

On Saturday, November 2, Richards Bay play the same Cape Town City at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

Coach at Richards Bay- Brandon Truter says “The chairman made it clear for us. If there’s any possibility of a cup, he would like a trophy this season,” he was quoted.

“The Carling Cup and other cups in the league represent that opportunity. The Carling Cup is the first one of the season. Once you’re in a cup, you need to be in it to win it.”

Other fixtures:

On Sunday, 3 November; Marumo Gallants versus Stellenbosch at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium, Bloemfontein.

TS Galaxy versus Magesi at the Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit.

According to PSL, the semi-final draw will take place on Sunday.
