ANC struggle icon and former Parliamentarian Mlangeni’s Golf Development Chapter will host over 50 young Golfers from Soweto and Mabopane whose theme for this year is “Developing future talent” during clinics –some to be conducted by the legend himself- as part of celebrating the Youth Month.
It began on June 6 at the Momentum Golf Village in Centurion to be followed by the Andrew Mlangeni Golf Day at Centurion Residential Estate & Country Club, on 7.
This will be used to raise funds towards the development of young golfers as well as rehabilitation of golf courses in poor areas.
The curtain falls on the 8th with the Andrew Mlangeni Green Jacket Awards Dinner at African Pride, Irene Country Club, Centurion.
Various sporting figures -alive and posthumously- will be acknowledged and presented with the Green Jackets at the gala dinner from the likes of Lucas Radebe, Penny Heyns, Jomo Sono, Brian Mitchell, Makhaya Ntini, Jacques Kallis, the late “Baby Jake” Matlala, Dingaan “Rose of Soweto” Thobela, Louis Oosthuizen, Mathews “Loop and Vaal” Motshwareteu, Rose Sedibana Modipa, Ace Ntsoelengoe, Ray Mali, Sam Ramsamy, Tap Tap Makhathini, Cheryl Roberts, Khaya Majola, and others. #HonouringaLegend
