Patrón Barmen competition a quest for best cocktail in mzansi

Having whittled down the numbers to only six remaining contestants, the Patrón Perfectionists competition is aimed at Barmen in quest to create the best cocktail in the country. It began early this year featuring both men and ladies who possesses the skill to impress seasoned industry professionals.

“We are very excited at the calibre of entries we have been receiving and anticipate a difficult call in picking a winner.

Patrón is synonymous with craftsmanship is all about attention to detail and pride in the perfection process, so we are proud of the submissions we have narrowed it down to with some of the country’s best,” commented Patrón Director, International Marketing, Matthew Sykes.

Patrón, Mexican tequila is famously revered in mzansi.

Here are the finalists:

Aidan Powrie, Peter Lebese and Cassandra Eichhoff: Western Cape

Bruce Dorfling: KZN

Justin Bester and Alex da Fonseca: Gauteng

Judges consist of Cause and Effect owner Kurt Schlechter who’s also an award winning bartender and drink consultant; The Stack’s Candice Baker who is an avid whiskey enthusiast; South Africa’s 2017 Perfectionist, Joshua Garthwaite; as well as Patrón Director, International Marketing, Matthew Sykes.

To witness who will be crowned 2018 ‘last Barman standing’, the finals will be held at Moote Bar, Melville (famous venue for artists) on September 27.
