According to statement, 35 cases were reported globally and investigations have been launched to identify the problem.
Although the cases were reported abroad, it’s unclear if in SA the battery issue on Galaxy Note7 were reported.
As a result, the units have been stopped for sale until further notice.
“We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause in the market but this is to ensure that Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers. We are working closely with our partners to ensure the replacement experience is as convenient and efficient as possible,” read the media release.
“For customers who already have Galaxy Note7 devices, we will voluntarily replace their current device with a new one over the coming weeks.”
At the time of publishing, Samsung SA had not responded for a comment on the financial implications involved and if, SA was also affected by the recall?
