Buoyant Bafana Bafana face the ego-dented Nigeria in the 2015 Afcon Qualifier in Cape Town.
Under the tutelage of visionary Ephraim Shakes Mashaba, Bafana won their first Qualifying game against hapless Sudan last week 3-0 and the boys are fired up to take the same performance to Super Eagles, who regrettably lost 3-2 to unfancied Congo Brazzaville.
However, Bafana need to work and improve on converting their chances and defensively need to be up to scratch.
During the Sudan clash, there were elementary mistakes committed by Bafana, and should the same happen against the visitors tonight, they could be in trouble.
Nigerians, who have shown no respect to Bafana are tamed, dangerous and will prove to their opponents that despite the loss last week, they will be on top of their game.
Reigning African champions Nigeria have won five and drawn one of six matches against South Africa in the World Cup and Cup of Nations.
Unconfirmed reports were that the team might not honour this fixture as a result of administrative politics but that is now water under the bridge.
“Mshege” as Bafana coach is known, has a score to settle with his Nigerian counterpart Stephen Keshi following a week of counter-actions, whereas “The Boss” as Keshi is celebrated would like to point out to SAFA that not hiring him was a costly mistake.
So, despite the grass suffering and players’ sweating it out-both coaches have a huge score to settle. Amen!
Which bull will be victorious?
The game starts at 8pm.
