The registration date originally scheduled for Wednesday 1 October was moved out to allow athletes more time given the influx of requests in the last week of September.
Organisers of the event reiterated that all logistics for the event are well underway and that runners should remember to collect their race packs between 30 October and 1 November from Constitutional Hill.
The heritage site is recognised as the seventh important site to be added to this year’s Nike Soweto Marathon, which is focused on highlighting the rich history of Soweto, but also celebrating 20 years of Freedom.
Athletes should note that they can still register in-store at the Nike Stores at Sandton City and The Zone in Rosebank, as well as the Orlando Community Centre in Soweto, Run-aWay Store in Pretoria and The Sweat Shops in both Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Following the route unveil earlier in September; route graphs as well as the route map are now finalised.
