Volvo unveils latest XC60 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge

Worthy eyesight. The latest Volvo models on display at the NGC, Sun City.

The 2017 Nedbank Golf Challenge will see a 50-car fleet of Volvo courtesy cars, hotel shuttles, VIP transfer and inclement weather support cars, descend on the course for the duration of the event.

Volvo’s latest models, including the XC90, V90 Cross Country and S90 will be on duty, supported by display and prize vehicles from across the range.

Most enticingly, the all-new Volvo XC60 makes its first public appearance in South Africa at the event in an exclusive showcase ahead of the new SUV’s local launch in 2018.

Says Greg Maruszewski, MD of Volvo Car South Africa: “We are naturally enthusiastic to partner with the Nedbank Golf Challenge for the sixteenth time, in what has become our longest-serving and biggest partnership in South Africa.

“It’s also a very special occasion for us, being able to reveal the all-new Volvo XC60 to a South African audience for the very first time. The all-new XC60 will be available in South Africa towards the third quarter of 2018 and brings with it world-leading safety, infotainment and engineering technology.”

Visitors to the event will be greeted at the welcome walkway by the new Volvo S90 R-Design, a contender for the 2018 Car of the Year title. At the Pro Shop, the all-new XC60 will be flanked by the Volvo XC90 – South African Car of the Year in 2016. In addition, the new Volvo V90 Cross Country and S90 will be displayed alongside the ultra-special XC90 Excellence at the newly-developed public hospitality area.

As has become tradition at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, tournament players also stand the chance of winning one of four brand new Volvos – provided their skills are at their sharpest, of course.
