Whittled down from an original 500 plus entries and then the eighteen semi-finalists from all over South Africa, the remaining 8 will battle it out at the ceremony scheduled for July 16 at Kyalami on the Track (Theatre)-Midrand.
The nationwide Sofn’free HairXperts Masters Challenge started in 2014, whose aim is to discover extraordinary talent in the South African black hair industry.
Entering its third edition, the competition draws contestants from all over mzansi and has created future entrepreneurs with a platform to compete against each other on national TV.
The 2017 finalists are Khonaye Nkohla (Cape Town City Centre); Eastern Cape – Vuyokazi Mangali (King Williams Town); KwaZulu-Natal– Khe Zondi (Pietermaritzburg) and Abner Hlatshwayo (Newcastle); Free State – Treavor Mokoaleli (Bethlehem), Gauteng – Maggie Makhethi (Sharpville), Doctor Sithole (Vosloorus) and Tony Masangu (Soweto).
Choreographer Somizi “So Mgigi” Mhlongo, will MC the proceedings and award winning Kwesta and Amanda Black will provide entertainment.
