September 27th is World Tourism Day and this year’s theme was digital transformation and innovation that advanced technologies can bring to the tourism sector to make it an even more crucial contributor for all round sustainable development of the world economies.
The minister of Tourism Derek Hanekom (better known as Oom) celebrated World Tourism Day in the Eastern Cape at Luchaba Nature Resort, Mthatha.
Hosting of WTD in SA gives provinces with lesser tourist visits to host celebrations with the exception of Gauteng, Durban and Cape Town.
