Banned for life from future Bafana Bafana games!

The Swedish midfield player did not pitch for a national call-up in camping in Durban last week as a result of tiredness, according to the player.

This agitated coach Shakes Mashaba who responded unequivocally that “this was unacceptable”.

“It’s not acceptable for a player to do this,” Mashaba told reporters after training on the outer fields of the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday.

“Unfortunately we received a letter from him via e-mail that says he played a lot of games and needed a rest. That is what is happening and we cannot do anything about it.”

Mahlangu is managed by Rob Moore, who also handles affairs of both Benny McCarthy and Steven Pienaar.

Pienaar controversially, decided not to honour any national call-ups.

For Mahlangu, he has been banned in all Bafana future games by SAFA.

Bafana are preparing for Sudan’s Afcon Qualifier this Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban.

The game will be in honour of the late teammate and skipper Senzo Meyiwa, who was cold-bloodedly shot two weeks ago in Vosloorus, East Rand.

Next week they travel to Uyo to face Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Mashaba’s camp is becoming like a casualty ward.

Wits midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi has withdrawn due to a toe injury. Thulani Serero has thigh injury Bongani Ndulula and Oupa Manyisa have minor knocks.
