Samsung to sponsor the EduWeek 2015!

Samsamsungsung Electronics South Africa’s focus on education is demonstrated through its silver sponsorship of the 2015 African EduWeek, to be hosted at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, from July 1-2 2015.

Samsung will be exhibiting its E-learning solution – the Samsung Smart School – a comprehensive platform providing learners with access to educational content anytime and anywhere.

As the foremost education event in Africa, African Eduweek features the latest in products and services as well as affording visitors the opportunity to enhance and develop their skills through a range of conference sessions.

Government’s move towards “paperless education” has seen more and more schools employ tablets and e-learning in classrooms.

Echoing this movement, this year’s event has a strong focus on technology innovation and development in Africa, providing the perfect opportunity for Samsung to showcase its offerings for the education sector.

“Samsung’s leadership and innovation in consumer electronics, combined with its dedication to education and learning means the company is well positioned to lead the way with interactive classroom experiences for teachers and students,” says Paulo Ferreira, Director of Enterprise Mobility at Samsung Electronics SA.

The Samsung Smart School solution uses Samsung Galaxy tablets and large-format classroom displays to create a richer learning environment to empower the new generation of digital natives. In addition to the technology available to educational institutes, Samsung works together with partners to offer a broad range of content and mobile apps for rich educational material to enhance learning.

This modernisation of the traditional classroom lends itself to a new teaching style that encourages students to explore, communicate and learn through innovative technology and applications.

Samsung’s holistic solution is reinforced by its partnership with Absolute Software, which offers tablets embedded with Absolute Computrace security software.

Affording peace of mind to schools, learners and parents, users can track devices online and if required, create predefined geographical boundaries within the school or neighbourhood to mitigate the risks associated with device theft.

“Our focus is on providing the best possible education solutions to ensure today’s learners are fully equipped with a seamless mobile learning environment,” continues Ferreira.

“Digital education is a powerful way to stimulate learners and our innovative and customisable solutions transform the learning environment with interactive and collaborative features.”
