Letsholonyane has been involved in the country’s biggest local rivalry, the Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates after spending the last eight years at Naturena.

But having switched to Matsatsantsa a Pitori this season, he will experience the taste of the Tshwane version on Sunday.

“With the decision to move to SuperSport, I knew it will come with such things and mentally I was ready,” Letsholonyane said of preparing for a different kind of derby.

“I knew that when it comes to supporters, it won’t be the same [as at Chiefs]. For me it wasn’t about the supporters and other things. It was about my personal goals and achievements.

“So I know it won’t be the same, but I know the few people that support SuperSport love the team with all their hearts and for me it is about representing these people in a best way I can.”

Letsholonyane added that it is important that they bounce back following their surprise 1-0 loss to Platinum Stars in the in the league on Wednesday.

“They [Sundowns] are good team and they have been doing very well in the previous months. I think it is going to be a tough one,” he said.

“I think by the time we play them on Sunday, we will be ready. We lost to Platinum Stars and we know what we should work on and once we polish those things we will be ready for them.

“It’s a cup game and we want to bounce back against Sundowns.”
