Chiefs' and VV marriage's over

This follows todays meeting with the teams’ board and agent at the club’s head-office, Chiefs Village, Naturena.

According to the press release, it read: “It was agreed to part ways with immediate effect, in order to allow both parties to prepare for the new season in good time.”

It further went on to say:” The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank the Coach for his services during his tenure at Kaizer Chiefs for the last three (3) seasons and to wish him all the best for his future endevours.”

Earlier today, we reported that VV sacking was imminent and it turned out as speculated.

Well, the writing was on the wall for VV and Chiefs going separate ways, however this soon showed the team was enough of him.

Ace Khuse, Doctor Khumalo and Arthur Zwane will complete the remainder of the season with the team, before the imminent appointment of Steve Komphela.

Attempts to obtain commetn from VV did not materialise.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Johan Neeskens is an uhappy chap following the inconsistency by his charges.

He poured his heart out today during the team’s training at Chloorkop, Midrand.

“Yes, we’ve had a good run in scoring goals but that alone does not reflect well to the inconsistency my team has been going through,” he said.

“Too much games and little rest might have attributed to this blowing hot and cold system,” says Neeskens, whose team walloped the marauding Black Leaopards in the PSL game 2-1 last night at Polokwane Stadium.

Sundowns are preparing for the Nedbank Cup Quarter-finals against the inconsistent side Maritzburg United this weekend.

With the likes of Teko Modise and Katlego Mphela injured, Neeskens has nevertheless, assured the fans that, the depth of the team would propel the team through to the semi-finals.

Posed to him on the sacking of VV, Neeskens said he feels bad but unfortunately that is the name of the game globally.
