Following a huge listening party session this past Wednesday, Nostalgia was presented to the world fashionably so.
The packed Bioscope (Maboneng Precinct) had fans enjoying the lyricists that Tresor has become synonymous with, feasting on his 3rd studio album launch.
The 13 track album features some of the biggest names in the game such as multi award-winning trio The Soil; Kenyan Pop Group Sauti Sol; contemporary singer Msaki; Kwaito rapper Kwesta; DRC singer Lokua Kanza; Afro Pop Group Mafikizolo; pop trio Beatenberg and Super Mega AKA who joins Tresor in the futuristic and thrilling video for Electric Night.
“Finally! You can experience Nostalgia!” nodded Tresor.
“This album has been in the making for a long time now and it’s great to see some of the responses to the music I’ve put out that is featured on the album.
Nostalgia is an album that captures the essence from reminiscing. It celebrates love, life, in a nostalgic way and I wanted to make sure it had a very strong and dominate Afro sound throughout the album; hence I featured some of the best artists from South Africa, DRC and Kenya.
The collaborations on this album truly show off what growing up as an African child looked like, this is heard through the artistry and the different languages in Nostalgia.”
He went on to say, “I am extremely proud to present this work of remembrance captured in the album and I’m excited to have been privileged to work with all the artists; we were able to create our own reminiscent souvenirs whilst making this album.
I hope Nostalgia helps my fans and listeners celebrate the soundtrack to new beginnings, love, laughter, joy, memories and more.”
At the launch he was resplendent in black and white attire- so was his wife.
The album is now available on all music platforms as from this Friday.

On the sidelines he also sent message of condolences to the family of music icon Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi- “rest in Peace baba the world of music will never be the same”.
