RUGBY World Cup champs Springboks are winning both off and on the field.
Recently, the team has seen the extension of sponsors or partnerships with the corporate world, and today global player Hyundai Automotive SA, came on board as automotive sponsor for a four-year deal, with option to extend.
“This powerful alliance brings together two iconic brands, each known for strength, excellence, innovation and reliability.
Whether on the road or on the rugby field, both Hyundai and the Springboks share a commitment to pushing boundaries and inspiring greatness,” says the newly appointed Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa, at the media launch held at the company’s head office in Bedfordview.
Hyundai in April this year, was announced as official partner to SA Junior national teams, and Youth Week rugby tournament, and all other national teams, meaning this expansion now includes the Rugby WC Champs Bokke, into the ecosystem.
“It is therefore such a befitting honour for us to be an official vehicle partner of the reigning World Champions, having won the World Cup four times!”, continued the bubbly looking Anderson.
The confirmation of the expanded relationship underlines the theme of the new partnership: United by Rugby. Driven by Hyundai.
“We’re delighted to confirm the expansion of the relationship with Hyundai Automotive South Africa to encompass the entire Springbok family and look forward to a mutually-beneficial and long journey ahead – on and off the field,” said Rian Oberholzer, CEO of SA Rugby.
“As a brand, Hyundai has earned a global reputation for building reliable, durable, and best-quality vehicles. Their brand philosophy aligns with our values.
“We are very grateful for Hyundai’s commitment to solving our transportation needs. We are always on the move and from now on, SA Rugby will be driven by Hyundai,” says Oberholzer.
Globally, Hyundai sponsors various teams and it’s a partner with FIFA, amongst others.
The partnership deal entails 20 vehicles, including Starias, Santa Fe and Palisades- meaning Boks will have access to award-winning, cutting-edge and stylish vehicles that meet the organisation’s transport requirements – whether transporting players, staff or equipment, efficiently, comfortably and safely.
The team is in camp ahead of the much awaited clash with Azzuri (Italy) at Loftus Stadium, Pretoria, on July 5, for the Castle Lager Incoming Series and the Castle Lager Rugby Championship, of which key member of coach Rassie Erasmus core team, Bongi Mbonambi alluded the “boys are in good shape and look forward to the game and the support from the country”.
The game kicks-off at 17:10
