Season Ticket Holders and Suite Owners were given first right of refusal and in the short span of a few days, tickets have been selling exceptionally well.
England will play midweek tour matches in Kimberley and Potchefstroom during their three Test series against the Springboks in June, the South African Rugby Union (SARU) said.
The series is a return to “traditional-style” touring which will see an England midweek team play matches on the platteland as well as Tests in Durban, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.
“I think all rugby fans will be excited by the idea of having England on tour in South Africa for five matches over three weeks,” said Jurie Roux, CEO of SARU.
“South Africa has not hosted a three-Test tour against a single nation since the visit of New Zealand in 1996, so this will be a special occasion for all of us. The Rugby Football Union has also agreed to two midweek matches in Kimberley and Potchefstroom, which gives us the opportunity to take international rugby away from the major metropolitan centres”, Roux concluded.
The Springboks will have all eyes on them with the new coaching staff and squad, while England will be looking to impress with a new manager leading the squad, as they build towards a home World Cup in 2015; a young captain fresh from the Six Nations and a country keen to see their stars put in a great performance and a winning tour, while looking to impress the British Lions selectors.
With Coca-Cola Park being host to the second Test match, which will ultimately be the “make or break” match of the series, over 22 000 tickets have already been sold. Coca-Cola Park’s pricing strategy for the Test is so exciting that this could be a great family fun day out. Supporters thinking about treating their families and friends to a day out ought to act fast as tickets won’t last much longer if they continue to sell at the current rate.
