Contract not renewed with his club. Chiefs skipper Tefu Mashamaite is reported to have not signed a new deal and could be on his way to Downs’.

‘Keeper Itumeleng Khune and current skipper and PSL big winner Tefu Mashamaite are reported to have not renewed contracts and rumour mill has it that, they could be donning the Brazilians jersey next season.

Both players are out of contract and their new demands have not been adhered to by AmaKhosi.

As such, coach Pitso “Jingles” Mosimane has shown keen interest in both players’ signature.

Also Mandla Masango and George Lebese have not renewed their contracts, respectively.

Mosimane has been quoted not to mince his words.

“People complain and say we kill careers. You hear all these negative stories,” Mosimane said. “But when a player comes to Sundowns, I speak to him. I ask if they know where they are going to do and if they are aware of the pros and cons of joining the club. I say ‘are you sure you will compete and are you sure you will be in the starting line-up?’ And the answer is always yes.”

Mosimane said there was no player at the club who felt he was not earning enough.

“At Sundowns, we change your life. It’s the club president’s policy to make a humble contribution to any player because football is a short career.”

Meanwhile, Oupa Manyisa, Thabo Matlaba and Patrick Phungwayo are yet to agree terms with Orlando Pirates.
