KickOff reported last night that Tovey was in intensive care.
The magazine said he had to be resuscitated several times. Tovey’s Bafana teammate, John “Shoes” Moshoeu, was admitted to Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg in a critical condition at the weekend.
Soccer Laduma Online said he was receiving treatment and recovering. KickOff reported that social media was abuzz yesterday that Moshoeu had died.
But this was dismissed by player agent Glyn Binkin.
Binkin later tweeted: “Good to see Shoes Moshoeu smiling with family & friends at the hospital.
Wishing him a speedy recovery. Onwards and upwards!”
