Mhlongo will most likely be in goals when Pirates take on the Nedbank Ye Yona Team as regular number one Senzo Meyiwa is away on international duty with Bafana Bafana.
“It will be nice to play this game,” he tells the club’s website. “I have not had a chance to play for the team and of course, I am fine to play this match.
“If I get selected to play, I hope to be at my best – I have to be tested and although this will not be an official match, I am preparing myself to give my best.
“We have three keepers here, but like I said, I am preparing myself as I prepare for any other match. If selected, I will definitely honour that chance; it is great to be on the field.”
Tickets for the match are free of charge and can be obtained at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers outlets across the country.
All you need to do is produce your identity document in order to get a ticket.
Kick-off at Orlando Stadium is at 15h00 on Sunday September 7.
Meanwhile, Springboks that won comfortably in Brisbane and Cape Town last year and the Wallabies were blown away by the All Blacks in Auckland two weeks ago, face Australia on Saturday’s Castle Lager Rugby Championship match in Perth for a continuation of the South African dominance to be an expectation.
The form shown in the opening test of 2014, when they smashed Wales in the first half in Durban, would be enough to get them home on Saturday. But a repeat of the performances in Mbombela and Salta won’t be.
With Bryan Habana celebrating his 100th test, our Bokke will put on a brave fighting spirit!
