Kings of Africa Downs’ add that all important star on their jersey!

Kings of Africa. CAF 2016 Champs Downs’ celebrating after their hardwork yesterday in Cairo, Egypt.

Albeit they lost 1-0, Downs won on aggregate 3-1, now its when and how should the star on the jersey must feature?

The genius but soft speaking Sizwe Nzimande general manager at the club says they’ll have to approach Orlando Pirates, on following the process.

“Look, its surreal we won on Sunday, and everyone me included, is still pinching myself that we finally brought that elusive cup to our shores. Yes, by end of this week, we shall know how and when to finally get that all important star on our jersey, and this will be in consultation with our technical sponsor Puma,” he said joyfully.

Downs’ is the only team after Pirates that won the game in 1995, to have that all important star on their jersey in SA.

The team is expected back in the country on Wednesday and unfortunately, the party will be cut short as they have to prepare for the league and Telkom Cup assignments, respectively.

In the meantime, messages of well done are still streaming in throughout the country, from politicians, Government, MECs, businesses, sporting fraternity and soccer fans.

Well done to coach Pitso “Jingles” Mosimane, technical team, management, officials, players, the chairman Patrice Motsepe and of course, the fans. ‘Ka bo Yello…’

Whose next Real Madrid? We await.

The Absa Premiership champions will now play against the champions of Europe, Asia & South America in the FIFA Club World Cup in Tokyo in December

Meanwhile, its still unclear if Jamaican and Rio Olympics star athlete Usain Bolt, has sent his message of congrats.

Both Downs and Bolt are Puma sponsored.

At the time of publishing Nzimande (who did not travel with the team) had not responded if, indeed, Bolt has sent his message of well done?
