MAQ washathon breezes into Soweto!

The sole purpose of the event is to make a call to Sowetans to bring their unwanted clothes and blankets to be washed and donated to charity organizations in Soweto.

A MAQ team, comprising of participants- will wash the clothing and blankets with MAQ Washing Powder and will treat the items with MAQ Fabric Conditioner.

Residents will be able to experience for themselves the gentle softness of MAQ Fabric Conditioner and the four amazing variants in the range. The items will be hung up to dry on a giant washing line, after which they will be handed over to the shelters.

“With Winter fast approaching thousands of children in orphanages and people in homes will need clothing and blankets to ward off the cold. With the MAQ

Fabric Conditioner Washathon, we are appealing to the community to help collect unwanted clothing and blankets that we can wash and dry, so that we can donate them to the community shelters looking like new and smelling fresh,” says Jacqueline Jacobs Marketing Director Bliss Brands.

Apart from the washing, entertainment will be provided by Jozi FM to spur on the participants and loads of prizes are up for grabs including a washing machine, a mini fridge and a microwave for the people who donate the most clothes and blankets. Furthermore, MAQ hampers and numerous spot prizes will be awarded.

“The MAQ Fabric Conditioner Washathon stems from our CSI mission, where giving back to the community is part of our DNA. Over the years, the Soweto community has really supported our brands, especially MAQ Washing Powder.

The Washathon is one of the ways in which we are giving back to the community. Another is our support of local radio station JoziFM,” concludes Jacobs.

The nation-wide tour recently held its washathon in Port Elizabeth.
