Miss Soweto used as catalyst to greater heights!

Having launched the careers of Basetsana Khumalo, Augustine Masilele and Doris Msibi, to mention the three, the pageant is now used as a catalyst to move out of poverty or as a springboard to greater achievements for most of the girls.

The top 20 semi-finalists of young ladies between the ages of 18 and 24, will battle it out at this years’ event to be held at the majestic Soweto Theatre, in Jabulani on November 30.

“Taking girls from the true heart of South Africa, and grooming female leaders of tomorrow is truly an honor for us to be part of this auspicious occasion,” says Mokhele Makhothi, the marketing manager at White Star.

Since taking over the pageant as the title sponsor White Star, the prestige and class it has been associated with has been redeemed. However, my wish would be Sowetan business-people coming on board as co-sponsors, or kanjani?

Liquideep will provide entertainment and tickets are available from Computicket outlets from R350 including drinks and food.

It starts from 7pm.

Come one, come all…
