Step down Grand Pa, Juju orders Mugabe!

Step down. EFF CIC Julius Sello Malema orders Zim Pres Robert Mugabe.

“Grandpa, it’s enough now. You must let go and allow other people to continue with ZANU PF. There are a lot of capable young comrades in ZANU PF. Very radical, very clear of where the continent must go,” said Malema.

Speaking to the media at the EFF headquarters in Johannesburg, Malema said that Mugabe, aged 92, is frail and should let go of the power.

“Zimbabwe situation is bad, president Mugabe can’t even control a spade, they were trying to plant a tree and he can’t control that thing. That’s how old he is. He’s no longer capable of discharging his responsibilities.”

“President Mugabe has reached a stage where he can’t do anything, he can’t even ‘klap’ you. He’s got no such capacity, he’s finished,” said Malema calling for the people of Zimbabwe to remove him as the president.

Malema said that Mugabe should not worry about the land expropriation legacy as the EFF will carry it forward.

“President Mugabe must let go, we will carry the legacy of the land question, we are following in his footsteps. We are proud of the actions he has taken but his overstay is not doing justice on the African revolution project.”

He said that Mugabe is destroying his own legacy by hanging on to power.

“He’s destroying his own legacy, its bad. President Mugabe staying in power and him being the presidential candidate in 2018, those comrades in ZANU PF can insult us but we are not going to be good friends if we are not going to tell them that that which they are doing is not good for Zimbabwean people, it’s not good for SADC, it’s not good for the struggle for reclaiming the land in Africa because those who are leading that struggle overstay and destroy that legitimate program.”

Soldering on despite frail health. The defiant Zim Pres Robert Mugabe.

Labeling ZANU PF members ‘cowards’, Malema called on the party members to act against Mugabe.

“We don’t hate the man, they can respond and insult us anyhow they want but they are a group of cowards those comrades in ZANU PF to be scared to say to an old man like president Mugabe, ‘please with due respect, let go”

He said that the EFF cannot remain good friends of Zimbabwe and the Zanu PF if they cannot tell them that what is happening in their country is wrong.

“We say this out of love not because we hate him. We celebrate Mugabe, we celebrate what he has done and we’ll continue his legacy.”

Meanwhile, it was unclear if Pres Mugabe or Zanu PF had made comment(s) following the remarks by Malema, at the time of publishing reports Sydney Morweng, news editor.

Seen as a sign of changing the tune, Malema had in past supported the frail looking Mugabe and also visited him and the Youth League.
