Venda welcomes comedy and music fit for festive season!

Catch her live in Venda, the soulstress Zahara, who got engaged recently.

Shayandima, a classy township in Venda got its nickname Mavhoneni, after it became one of the first townships in the far north to have electricity and streetlights during the apartheid regime era.

The festival has a line- up of stars such as Ganyani, Zahara, Kelly Khumalo, the 4 year old DJ who won etv’s 2015 SA Got Talent search show DJ Arch Jnr, kwaito stars Mgarimbe, Mzambiya, Mapaputsi, Vukani, The Teddybears, Tman Gavini, Dupa, Legendary reggae musician Colbert Mukwevho and others.

Manyisa Records founder Tshepo Manyisa says Shayas Maboneni is aimed at giving people a great musical experience with industry top artists.

“We thought long and hard about this and we realised that we need to stage an event that’s not only going to celebrate what Shayandima is about but also to bring some of the best music artists that are currently making headlines in the country,” he said.

The fest also features comedy in the likes of top dawgz Kedibone Mulaudzi and Ashifa Shabba.

DJ Khathu from Y FM will MC the show, that has guests such as Muvhango actors, Lesley Musina who plays Ndalamo, Sidney Ramakwela who plays Mulalo and Gabriel Temudzani who plays Chief Azwinndini “Vhafuwi” Mukwevho.

It happens on December 26 at Shuma Park, Shayandima, Thohoyandou-Venda.
