The bone of contention: account for public funds spent on Nkandla.
This showdown will be the first in Parliament in the history of South Africa’s politics, should it happen.
According to EFF’s Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, Zuma must explain himself on the Nkandla issue, finish and klaar!
Ndlozi says there will be drama at Parliament, if their call is unheeded.
Last year, Public Protector Thuli Madonsela found Zuma and his family had benefitted improperly from the money spent on his KwaZulu-Natal home.
While addressing news editors in Pretoria on Sunday, Zuma said the Nkandla matter is being used for political gain.
“At the top there, there’s a clinic which belongs to government. It’s unfair that no investigative journalist has gone back to find out exactly if this is not clear. Even if I say it as I’m saying it here, you’re not going to report it because it’s nice to write about Nkandla.”
He says he’s been unfairly treated and that the media isn’t interested in the facts.
Although there are different opinions on this matter, political commentators believe this would have an impact on the South African politics, particularly the President.
The Speaker of Parliament said the matter will only be addressed in March 10.
