Rémy Martin and Riky Rick searching for would-be producers

The best kept secret was thrown out of the bag at an exclusive pomp ceremony in Jozi, on Thursday evening, with guests defying a chilly weather. Who wouldn’t considering the flowing cognac to keep us warm?

Tagged ‘Remy Producers‘ it has already been running for five seasons in the USA, the latest featuring global superstars Big Sean and Mustard. Past seasons have featured other big names, including Timberland and Wyclef Jean. The brand hopes to replicate this success in South Africa.

“When you are with Rémy Martin, you become a part of the family. This programme has been running for a long time in the States, and there is no ways we would be able to do it here without creating synergies all around the world for our next big producer,” clutched the King Kotini hit maker.

During interview, the clean-shaven hip hop star further stated, I’m looking for people who know what their sound is and are comfortable with their sound, whether it’s popular or not popular,” says Rikhado Makhado.

“We believe that this will be the biggest and most exciting music platform to hit South Africa to date. We want to discover and celebrate emerging music producers and we are excited to see what talent will be uncovered. 

And we don’t believe we could have partnered with anyone better than Riky Rick – he really is at the top of his game, and serves as an inspiration and mentor to many in the music scene,” explains Jerome Adonis, Rémy Martin South Africa Brand Manager.

Celebrated for his affluent signature style his love for the local fashion, also promised to open his barber shop very soon that will cater for MEN.

The interaction was preceded by his live performance, supported by his mates Major League and wife.

The winner will have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to co-sign on a track with this Riky Rick.

These events will be open to competition winners and some members of the public on a first-come, first served basis, who can sign up in advance. The events are scheduled as follows:

  • Johannesburg: 26 July
  • Durban: 9 August
  • Cape Town: 23 August
  • Grand Finale (Johannesburg): 6 September
