During his maiden State of the Nation Address the President, hinted cabinet reshuffle, especially in the Department of Social Development and the Department of Public Enterprise, respectively.
According to reports Gigaba’s deputy S’fiso Buthelezi indicated cabinet reshuffle was the prerogative of the president.
“There is a Budget that is going to be presented tomorrow and it’s going to be presented by nobody else but Malusi Gigaba,” said Buthelezi, former Prasa board chairman.
Various political parties, analysts and the country at large have also called for cabinet reshuffle.
Ruling party alliance partners Cosatu and SACP have also insisted on wider consultation ahead of the cabinet change.
Meanwhile, Pres Ramaphosa attended a run on Tuesday, in a five kilometres walk from the Gugulethu Sports Complex to Athlone Stadium. He was seen in the company of former minister of Finance Trevor Manuel and other ANC top honchos in the WC.
