Pernod Ricard SA, the distributors of Chivas Regal recently held media launch to celebrate the unveiling of Chivas Extra, as part of its fifth edition to the family.

Chivas Extra is the first new variant to be launched in almost ten years and is positioned within the super-premium range, sitting in between Chivas Regal 12 Year Old and Chivas Regal 18 Year Old.
The intimate launch took place in the leafy suburbs of Jozi last week.
It is layered with rich flavours; the Nose is fruity sweet with notes of ripe pears and melon, creamy toffee, milk chocolate, cinnamon and a hint of ginger; the Taste Sweet ripe pears in syrup, vanilla caramel, cinnamon sweets and almonds in the background; resulting in a very nice, long-lasting feel in the mouth. The secret to its taste lies in the use of whiskies matured in Olorosso sherry casks along with rare malts.
According to Mandla Holomisa-National Brand Manager Chivas Regal- their mission is three pronged.
“Firstly introduce it to market; secondly to get it out of the shelves and thirdly to create hype around it as much as possible, “says the buoyant Holomisa, who oversaw the Glenlivet’s brand reach the ceiling.
Chivas Extra is available in stores at the recommended retail price of R389.00
