Pay back time as Bucs look to avenge pain caused by Downs

Its all nothing for the troubled Black and White, stru!

Much needed oomph. Bucs Striker should put on his scoring boots to boost his team morale against Downs on Sunday.

Following their loss to Bidvest Wits on Wednesday (1-0) Bucs has to re-group and fight for pride. Wits were all over Bucs and if only they converted their chances the score would have been embarrassing.

Currently, the Soweto

based outfit is perched 8th on the log, but should they lose against the jet-legged Downs they will be out of the MTN 8.

Albeit the side has improved marginally, truth be told Bucs has not impressed this season and it remains to be seen what will happen to a surplus of players’. Over-hauling is needed in the camp and Dr Irvin Khoza should be aware of that.

With the kind of players’ in their disposal one would have expected competitive football but alas not.

Downs’ on the other hand is firing blanks following their hard fought two-all draw with Platinum Stars, this week. It beats me WHY?

The defending champs (second on the log) are huffing and puffing -perhaps due to crammed fixtures and injuries. But that should not be an excuse as the team has top stars signed to them.

What is their job in the absence of regulars, kante?

The Pretoria side caused mayhem in the first round meeting at Loftus by humiliating Bucs 6-0 that led to fans running amok. We’re still awaiting the charge sheet from PSL.

Yes, its payback time for Bucs.

Look, the league ain’t over for either Downs, Wits, SuperSport, Cape Town City or even Chiefs but knowing how complicated this league is, anything is possible. Any under-dogs?

On Sunday and depending on other league fix

Will Downs players’ repeat the same damage they caused to Bucs in the first leg of the PSL clash come Sunday? Ask Tau, Vilakazi and Langerman?

ture outcomes, the league honours race is still far from over.

But whoever becomes victorious in this much talked about clash, count-down has begun.
