In a very terse media statement on the clubs’ website yesterday it read: “When we were approached by AmaZulu to purchase Aces’ PSL status, we were always aware that this agreement was subject to the approval of the PSL executive committee,” read the statement.
“We have been informed that this agreement was not forthcoming and respect it wholeheartedly. At no stage did Aces stop preparing for the upcoming PSL season. In fact, Aces was the first team to start pre-season and is still continuing.
“We would like to clarify that at no point was the club and brand ‘Black Aces’ going to disappear. On the contrary, this deal was going to assist in repositioning the brand to a better quality football club.”
According to Sowetalive, AmaZulu successfully bought the status of Dynamos after their relegation in the 2006-2007 season, but this time they have took somewhere else.
Mario and George Morfou, club owners are reported to have told the players, technical team and new coach its back to business.
The team is hard at work preparing for this weekend’s Bokone Bophirima Maze Cup in Rustenburg against other three teams.
Muhsin Ertugral was once quoted as saying “I will not coach Aces at NFD neither AmaZulu.”

MTN8 Cup spokesperson Desiree Pooe, yesterday said she hoped the matter would not affect the campaign as they prepare for the new season.
